Dr. Desmond Coates

Medical Director

Dr. Desmond Xavier Coates has joined Mason Animal Hospital as our Medical Director. He graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in 2022 and recently moved from Pennsylvania to the Mason area with his wife, Quanique.

His professional interests include ultrasound, soft-tissue surgery, dentistry, and Fear Free handling. Outside the hospital, he enjoys walking around the neighborhood, baking, grilling, brewing hard cider, watching soccer and anime, and volunteering in the community. He shares his home with two beloved cats, Violet and Bell, who they adopted in Pennsylvania.

He looks forward to meeting you and caring for your pets — your furry family members will be in safe, compassionate hands.
